Rest in Peace, Brother Dennis Clem

Dennisearl Fredericke Clem, a longtime member of the Bloomington 7th Ward, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, January 15, 2022 surrounded by those he loved most in the world. His large and loving family have helped provide his day-to-day care since a near fatal car accident in early June, 2011 left him paralyzed from the waist down. In his own words, “I am now an incomplete quadriplegic, but my life was spared by our loving Heavenly Father.”

Born in May 1968 in Anaheim, CA Dennisearl was a bright and energetic child, one of five siblings including 3 brothers and a beautiful sister. He lived his young life in Las Vegas, Nevada; Tucson, Arizona; and in Camarillo and Glendale, CA. The family moved to Mesquite, NV in 1984 where Dennisearl graduated  from Virgin Valley High School in 1987 with a letter in football.  He married Peggy Lou Tisdale in May 1992 and in March 1994, they were sealed in the St. George Temple.

A few years later the couple moved to Horton, Kansas to pursue a career opportunity and resided there until 2001 and where their oldest son and later a daughter were born.

Dennis was a family guy, always checking on the needs of others and offering his services and prayers. He lived for his family and the San Francisco 49ers football team watching over both until the very end.

In his own words, “I'm a HUGE 49rs fan but I also love the Utah Jazz. I particularly love to spend whatever time I have with my wife and kids. They're my whole world.

"I’ve been married to the most beautiful girl in the world for nearly 30 years … and, hope to have another 100 years with her.  Peggy and I work really hard to provide strength and happiness to our family while at the same time trying to teach them right from wrong.  Thanks to my wife – and most of all, my best friend - for being the backbone of our wonderful family.

"I love watching and playing sports, collecting San Francisco 49ers memorabilia and spending time camping, socializing at get-togethers or just being at home with my wife and kids.”

Br. Clem is survived by his wife, Peggy Lou Clem; their four children: Tyler, Tavia, Tecia, and Traci (St. George, UT); his parents, Dennis and Charlene Clem (Mesquite, NV); and his siblings: Charles (Gayla) Clem (Mesquite, NV); Martha (J.D.) McCoy (Mapleton, UT); Adam Clem (Mesquite, NV); Luke (Jessica) Clem (Las Vegas, NV); and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 29, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. with a visitation prior to services, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Metcalf Mortuary at 288 W. St. George Blvd.
