Ellie is New B7 Ward Member

Elizabeth (“Ellie”) Anderson, daughter of Michael and Kristen Anderson, became one of the newest members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Saturday, April 22 when she and her cousin Skyler – who had traveled with his family from their home in South Dakota – shared this sacred ordinance together surrounded by family and friends.  Ellie – baptized and confirmed by her father Michael – and Skyler – baptized by his father Dave Vensel, and confirmed by his grandfather Steve Orton of Bloomington Hills.

The 2nd grader at Bloomington Elementary School, and her cousin, were taught more about the ordinance of baptism by Ellie’s grandmother Betty Maxwell, after which cousins and friends sang “As A Child of God.”

Congratulations, Ellie, on your decision to take this important step on your path back to our Heavenly Father.

Ward Picnic Was Perfect!

Don't you just love it when a plan comes together?  After Bishop Bair's concerns about rain and cold weather for the ward picnic initially scheduled on Saturday, April 8, the spring picnic at Christensen Park was rescheduled on Wednesday, April 12.  A large - and hungry - crowd gathered on a perfectly beautiful spring afternoon for socializing, volleyball, laughter, catching up, and a whole lot of good food.  Thanks to all who brought salads and desserts and to the bishopric for providing - and cooking - hamburgers and hot dogs!  It was a fun afternoon!

Activity Day Girls Learn to Be the Savior's Hands

On Monday, March 27, B7 Ward Primary’s Activity Day girls had fun giving themselves manicures. We also had a lesson on how we need to be the Savior’s hands in taking care of those who need help.  We need to treat others the way we could like to be treated.  We need to look for the good in people, speak kindly to others, give sincere compliments, forgive others, never put someone down, avoid gossip and spreading rumors.  The girls were then challenged to write about these concepts and work to life, encourage and be kind to family members, friends, classmates and others.

We also celebrated three birthdays - Sarah Larson, who is turning 12 and will now advance to Young Women's; Lexi Broberg, turning 11 in early April and Ellie Anderson who will turn eight in April and be baptized soon.
