Senior Moments ~ Graduate Spotlights

Hunter Dawn Kanenwisher

Hunter is another one of Bloomington 7th's High School Graduates who moved here her Senior year.  Under difficult circumstances and challenges, Hunter has embraced Tuacahn High School and has enjoyed living here in St. George and making new friends.  She has always been involved in choir and theater and this year she participated in the Madrigal Choir and Hyperion Performing group, both of which kept her busy aside from the many plays, musicals and one acts that she was involved in. In previous high schools she was a cheerleader, on the swim team and played J.V. soccer as well.  She was able to use her cheerleading experience this year when she choreographed dances and cheers for a Powder Puff football game.  Hunter also had the opportunity of taking dance this year at school, which has helped to make her a more well-rounded musical-theater participant.

Hunter will also be graduating from Seminary this Sunday, where she will receive a 4 year certificate.  She lettered two of those years.

You will find Hunter this fall at SUU in Cedar City, where she has received a scholarship for academics.  She is looking forward to living in the mountains and being a Thunderbird where she will major in Music and Theater.  Her Mom and Dad are proud of her for beginning a new life in Dixie and making it a good one.  Hunter makes every party come alive and is the substance and filling to our family sandwich.

Congratulations Hunter, we're proud of you!

Senior Moments ~ Graduate Spotlights

Natalie Corrinne Spangler

Natalie has had a great time attending Tuacahn High for the last four years!  She has been part of the Musical Theater Academy and has been involved in dozens of shows, dance recitals, and other performances and competitions.  She is also involved in the Drama Club, is the Student Body Historian, is putting together the yearbook as the Senior Editor, and competes in the Shakespeare Club and Hyperion acting group.  She is a very independent spirit and is usually smiling or laughing about something.  Recently, she was given the Sterling Scholar Award and is excited to use her scholarship to attend SUU in the fall.  Natalie plans on majoring in the performing arts and hopes she can also be part of the study abroad program in college.  She wants to travel and perform and share some of her enthusiasm for the theater as well as her love of life and the testimony she has gained along the way.

We will always be grateful to have the Spanglers move into our ward.  Congratulations Natalie!

A Moment in the Sun

The youth of the B7 Ward spent some time enjoying each other and participating in wholesome recreational fun in the sun yesterday.  They were taken to Sand Hollow Reservoir, where they spent some time involved in a service project of picking up trash along the shore.  They were then treated to food and water sports activities!  A thank you to the Erskines, Conrads and Bro. Jake Green for supplying the necessary ingredients of food and entertainment for our youth!  And thank you to those who chaperoned and carpooled and for the reminders of using sunscreen!

Senior Moments ~ Graduate Spotlights

McCall Renee Wright

Moving to St. George her senior year wasn't anticipated, but very devastating.  McCall was a loyal Provo High Bulldog.  Looking back on the situation it has been a wonderful change for her.  McCall has had an outstanding senior year.  Working very hard, McCall has earned almost straight A's this whole year.  Making up credits she didn't have and going to night school at Millcreek was a bummer, but SHE DID IT!  She participated in Pep Club and enjoyed going to the football games.  She has learned many new lessons this year and has learned a lot about herself.  McCall is very creative so it's no wonder she blossomed in Language Arts and Creative Writing. Everyone loves the stories, poems and journal entries she writes. She is amazing in Theater.  McCall has become a real leader this year.  Her friends really count on her for guidance and trust her opinion.

McCall has become a loyal Dixie High Flyer.  Although she is short a few hours for graduation, she is excited to graduate from Southwest High on June 23, 2011.  We are so proud of her and her accomplishments this year.

~ Sis Torrie Wright

We are proud of McCall too and glad that she moved into the ward her senior year!

Senior Moments ~ Graduating Spotlights

Highlights about our High School Graduates continue with:

Sarah Sophie Smith

Sarah graduates from Dixie High.  She is a devoted student who has juggled a lot to maintain her high GPA and pursue her talents.  Sarah was born in Provo while her Dad was attending BYU.  She grew up in Germany and started school in Michigan.  Growing up in a bilingual household, she is fluent in German.

Sarah first busted out at three in a dance class in the Detroit area.  After moving to St. George she was a competitive gymnast for five years.  The last six years she has devoted to classical dance.  She has performed in five seasons of the St. George Ballet Company's production of the Nutcracker using Ballet West's choreography.  Performing the Arabian role is her favorite.

Sarah attended Desert Hills the first year it opened and was a member of the La Ragelles dance company there.  For the spring production she choreographed a routine to Rancid's Time Bomb that exposed the never-before-seen life of night maids rockabilly dancing with mops and wheeled garbage cans.

Sarah will continue her education at Dixie College until she turns 18 later this fall. Whatever Sarah does she makes it fun and exciting for all.  Lively is an understatement for Sarah.  We wish her good choices and choice blessings.

Bloomington 7th wishes the same for Sarah!  Congratulations!
